Leadership: responsible for leading a team of engineers with varying skill sets and years of experience. This includes assigning tasks, giving clear direction, setting realistic goals and timelines, providing feedback, and motivating team members.
Project Management: plan and organize projects, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed within budget and are of high quality.
Communication / Interpersonal Skills: ability to collaborate with team members, other departments, customers, and different levels of management. Able to convey technical information clearly, listen actively, and foster open lines of communication.
Problem-Solving / Decision-Making: adept at analyzing complex problems and making informed decisions. Able to think critically, evaluate alternatives and propose effective solutions to technical challenges.
Technical Knowledge: deep understanding of engineering principles, particularly with respect to thermal-mechanical analysis of nuclear fuel. Cognizant of industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities of the Thermal-Mechanics (T-M) Team Supervisor include, but are not limited to, (1) planning, organizing, and directing T-M analysis work, (2) supervising workflows to ensure deliverables are safe, high quality, on time, and within budget, (3) providing technical oversight of T-M work products and facilitating resolution of technical issues as necessary, (4) performing personnel reviews and tracking performance goals and objectives for team members, (5) facilitating professional growth and development of team members, (6) supporting Fuels proposal efforts, and (7) interacting and collaborating with customers and other Framatome teams/disciplines.
