Chemistry degree with laboratory experience. Working knowledge of a broad range of general laboratory operations. Strong organizational, leadership, technical and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in computer operations, Microsoft office suite and troubleshooting preferred but not required. Ability to generate respect and trust from staff, internal customers, external auditors and manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
Knowledge of a LIMS system (preferable Thermo Fisher SampleManager) is a plus.
Knowledge of at least three (3) of the following types of instrumentations is preferred with the ability to identify issues, trouble shoot, and work with others to resolve issues: LECO Instruments (H, C, S, N analyzers); Pyrohydrolysis and titration with ion-selective electrode; moisture analyzers; U titration using automatic titrators; TCLP; ICP-MS, Agilent; ICP-MS multi-collector, Nu Instruments.
